INCREDIBLE EDIBLE PENTICTON
This is the case study of Incredible Edible Penticton project. In July 2017 I volunteered to make and design a free WordPress site for their non-profit organization. I had it completed in about 2 weeks.
I know the group as I volunteer in the community gardens in the spring, summer, and fall, and go to board meetings a few times a year.
I know they didn’t have a site or good social media engagement so I offered my services. I enjoyed the project a lot because I believe in what the company stands for – Free Food For All.
You can view their WordPress.com site https://ediblepenticton.wordpress.com/
I wrote all the content and designed the entire 21-page website.
I also made graphics, feature pictures and other photos for all areas of the website with Canva.
I also set up a Twitter and Instagram account for them, as they just had the Facebook page.
Update: August 2020 – I’m not the president on the board and love this group and garden. Providing free food for the community has become one of my passions and I am hoping it is instilling a sense of volunteering and community in my children as well. Although this year we have COVID protocols in place and not many volunteers the garden is still growing like crazy and we put the free food out in a cooler so the public doesn’t come into the garden this year.
